“While I am disappointed to learn that Delta Airlines will no longer be servicing our airport, it does not diminish our commitment to ensuring Midland International Air & Space Port continues to thrive and meet the needs of our residents and those traveling through the Permian Basin,” Councilwoman Robin Poole, the City Council’s liaison to the Airports Department, stated in the press release. Delta Airlines provided flights from Midland to Austin.

In the release, the city of Midland said Southwest Airlines will still provide nonstop service to Austin. Passengers also have options for non-stop flights to Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Denver, and Phoenix. In August, Delta announced the launch of three new nonstop routes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Denver, Columbus, and Kansas City.
