Rwanda Air, targeting the growing number of air travelers between Europe and Africa, is set to extend its wings, eyeing tourists and business visitors flying between Kigali, the East African coast, and other key regional and global destinations.

The Kigali-based airline is expecting to launch four weekly flights to connect the East African coastal cities of Zanzibar and Mombasa with strategic European and American airports through London Heathrow Airport via Kigali, aiming to attract more air travelers between Africa and other continents.

The airline is set to launch its Zanzibar flight on November 30, 2025, to be operated every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday between Kigali and Zanzibar via Kilimanjaro International Airport in Northern Tanzania and Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean coast.

Forming a triangular route between Kigali, Zanzibar, and Mombasa in Kenya, RwandAir’s new route is expected to attract tourists visiting wildlife parks in Rwanda, mostly gorillas and northern Tanzania, then the beaches and historical sites in Zanzibar and Mombasa.

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda, wildlife safaris in northern Tanzania, and the Indian Ocean coastal beaches in both Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Mombasa are the key tourist sites the airline has been targeting for its clients.
