Delta Air Lines is continuing its widebody-fleet renewal plans and has placed a firm order with Airbus for 31 additional widebody-aircraft. Ten of the order are firming options but the deal also includes twenty new options. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2029.

Specifically, the airline is ordering sixteen A330-900s and fifteen A350-900s. Once delivered, Delta Air Lines will have a widebody Airbus-fleet of 55 A330-900s, 59 A350-900s, and 20 A350-1000s.

Earlier in January 2026, Delta also announced an order for 30 Boeing B787-10s with options on another 30. Delivery of these is due to begin in 2031.

According to the press-release from the airline, it now has open orders for 232 narrowbodies and 85 widebodies.
