he new route will be launched on 18th September and will be operated 3-4 times weekly with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

For Icelandic and North American travellers, the route offers direct access to Gdansk’s vibrant culture, historic old town, and artistic heritage, without the need for connecting flights through larger European hubs. Passengers from Gdansk can connect seamlessly through Iceland’s Keflavík hub to major North American cities, capitalizing on Iceland’s strategic position midway between Europe and North America.

The new Gdansk-Keflavík service complements Icelandair’s broader network expansion, with multiple weekly departures allowing for convenient connections to key North American destinations.

In further network expansion, Icelandair’s Geneva route has been strengthened with an extended winter schedule. The service will now operate twice weekly on the Boeing 737 MAX 8 from 19 December 2026 through to Easter 2027, providing enhanced winter connectivity to this important European hub.

Icelandair customers travelling between Europe and North America can enhance their journey with a stopover in Iceland for up to 7 days, combining Polish connections with Icelandic experiences.
