VIENNA—Austrian Airlines’ fleet modernization is gaining momentum as its parent Lufthansa Group has allocated a total of 22 CFM Leap-powered Airbus A320neo-family aircraft to the Vienna-based carrier. Lufthansa is meanwhile finally taking delivery of long-delayed Boeing 787-9s, freeing up other 787s.
