LATAM Airlines Group has signed an agreement with Embraer for up to 74 E195-E2 aircraft, comprising 24 firm orders and 50 purchase options, valued at roughly US$2.1 billion at list prices. Deliveries of the firm aircraft will begin in the second half of 2026, starting with LATAM Airlines Brazil and potentially extending to other affiliates.

The investment will allow LATAM to strengthen regional connectivity by potentially adding up to 35 new destinations to its current network of 160, while improving flexibility at its hubs. The move aligns with LATAM’s financial policy and ongoing strategy of profitable growth, which has expanded its passenger network by 24% since 2021.

The Embraer E195-E2, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines and featuring advanced fly-by-wire technology, offers up to 30% lower fuel consumption per seat compared to older models, along with a more comfortable 2-2 seating configuration. The jets will complement LATAM’s existing fleet of 362 aircraft, which includes Airbus narrow-bodies, Boeing wide-bodies, and freighters.

LATAM CEO Roberto Alvo said the order reflects the group’s focus on expanding domestic and regional operations, enhancing connectivity, and supporting economic and social development across South America. Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto added that the partnership highlights LATAM’s commitment to efficiency and growth, with the E195-E2 offering the “right capacity” for the region’s needs.
