Airbus, the leading manufacturer of regional airliners, has come on top in the process in which the Polish national carrier was choosing its supplier of aircraft to operate in this particular segment of the market.

A220-100 and A220-300 models offered by Airbus will be gradually joining the LOT Polish Airlines fleet starting from 2027. The new jets will offer an even higher level of comfort, simultaneously being more fuel efficient and emitting less CO2.
The A220 fleet will be powered by state-of-the-art PW1500G engines manufactured by Pratt&Whitney.
The choice of this particular model marks another step on the path of LOT Polish Airlines’ growth. Thanks to the newly acquired aircraft, the airline will be able to continue its expansion and will focus on moving its operations, in the long term, to Poland’s new hub - Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK).

At the Paris Air Show – the most important event of the aviation industry taking place in 2025 – representatives of LOT Polish Airlines and Airbus, accompanied by Dariusz Klimczak, the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland, and Philippe Tabarot, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of France, signed an agreement under which Poland’s national carrier will acquire, between 2027 and 2031, 40 Airbus A220 aircraft offered in two different variants: -100 and -300. Under the terms of the deal, the Polish airline will be able to exercise an option to purchase 44 more planes offered by the European manufacturer.
