Airline companies may face hefty fines if they fail to provide proper assistance to passengers.

This was the warning from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) in cases where passenger flights are cancelled but airline companies do not attend to them.

When announcing cancelled flights, airlines must inform passengers and clearly explain the real reason why their trips were cancelled.

According to the CAB, fines may reach up to ₱2 million.
