Singapore Airlines launched its new in-flight safety video on Thursday (4 Sept), which married in-flight safety instructions with a showcase of Singapore’s rich cultural sites, communities, and neighbourhoods.

Produced in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the video showcased Singapore Airlines cabin crew visiting iconic landmarks such as the Esplanade, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Lau Pa Sat, and Jurong Lake Gardens. Along the way, they engage with local communities – including a lion dance troupe, Kolam artists, Silat practitioners, and an aqua aerobics team – who demonstrate the airline’s in-flight safety procedures.

A burst sprinkler pipe in the basement of City Square Mall caused chaos on the evening of 3 Sept, as brown-coloured water pooled, and even flowed into the underpass leading to Farrer Park MRT station. Videos posted on TikTok showed customers at the KFC outlet on Basement 1 abandoning their meals to avoid the liquid. City Square Mall confirmed they were alerted to the incident at about 7.40pm.
