Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific has extended the cancellation of its passenger and cargo flights to Dubai and Riyadh until 31 March, citing the volatile situation in the Middle East.

In an operational update yesterday, the airline said its daily passenger services to Dubai and Riyadh, along with Cathay Cargo freighter flights to the two cities, will remain suspended during the period.

The airline said the move is intended to provide greater certainty to passengers and cargo customers, with affected travellers able to rebook, reroute or cancel their tickets.

“The safety of our customers and people guides every decision we make,” the airline said in a statement, adding that it continues to monitor the situation closely.

Many airlines have rerouted or suspended flights to parts of the region amid security concerns and operational risk.

Some mainland Chinese airlines have been gradually restoring limited services after earlier disruptions. China Southern has resumed flights between Guangzhou and Riyadh as airlines continue to assess safety and airspace conditions.

Cathay said it will continue reviewing the situation and will provide further updates on its website as necessary. Passengers are advised to check the airline’s official channels for the latest flight information and travel options.
