While Spirit Airlines is teetering on the edge of insolvency, its fellow budget carrier, Frontier is looking to fill the gap in the market with a series of new routes. After adding over 20 domestic flight routes late last month, the airline is now doubling down on popular vacation hubs with 22 new or returning routes announced in a press release.
Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is getting the most love, with seven new routes. Other beneficiary cities include Orlando, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Miami. Meanwhile, most of the flights are headed to vacation hotspots across the Caribbean and Latin America. These destinations include St. Maarten; Nassau, Bahamas; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; San Salvador, El Salvador; Santiago, Dominican Republic; and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
