he new route will be launched on 18th September and will be operated 3-4 times weekly with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

For Icelandic and North American travellers, the route offers direct access to Gdansk’s vibrant culture, historic old town, and artistic heritage, without the need for connecting flights through larger European hubs. Passengers from Gdansk can connect seamlessly through Iceland’s Keflavík hub to major North American cities, capitalizing on Iceland’s strategic position midway between Europe and North America.

The new Gdansk-Keflavík service complements Icelandair’s broader network expansion, with multiple weekly departures allowing for convenient connections to key North American destinations.

In further network expansion, Icelandair’s Geneva route has been strengthened with an extended winter schedule. The service will now operate twice weekly on the Boeing 737 MAX 8 from 19 December 2026 through to Easter 2027, providing enhanced winter connectivity to this important European hub.

Icelandair customers travelling between Europe and North America can enhance their journey with a stopover in Iceland for up to 7 days, combining Polish connections with Icelandic experiences.

Trax signed a multi-year contract expansion with Air Atlanta Icelandic. A Trax customer for more than 25 years, Air Atlanta Icelandic upgraded to Trax’s eMRO platform in 2024. Air Atlanta Icelandic will add Trax’s eMobility and cloud hosting solutions to further streamline maintenance, improve efficiency, and enhance compliance.

Air Atlanta Icelandic’s deployment of additional Trax solutions will empower mechanics to manage defects digitally, enable line controllers to coordinate aircraft turnaround more effectively, and transition the airline to electronic task card execution for maintenance workflows. Pilots will benefit from a fully electronic logbook while technical teams gain mobile access to manuals and documentation, reducing paper dependency and ensuring real-time accuracy. Hosting all applications in Trax’s cloud will provide Air Atlanta Icelandic greater scalability, security, and reliability while reducing the airline’s infrastructure overhead.

“Trax has supported Air Atlanta Icelandic for decades and is excited to be at the centre of their strategic transformation,” said Omar Santos, Trax’s Vice President of Global Services and Support. “Their deployment of eMobility and cloud hosting is a prime example of how an expanded suite of Trax solutions can enable customers to further boost productivity, enhance safety, and deliver a more agile operational model.”
