A Frontier Airlines flight was moved to an isolated runway at Atlanta’s airport Sunday after a passenger made a bomb threat, prompting a law enforcement response before officials deemed the threat non-credible.

Frontier Flight 2539 from Columbus, Ohio, had landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and was taxiing to the gate when a passenger allegedly made the verbal threat.

As a precaution and in coordination with local authorities, the aircraft was redirected to a remote location where law enforcement responded.

Passengers Deplaned using airstairs and were bused to the terminal. Authorities later determined the threat was not credible.

The FBI and Atlanta police Department told Fox News the incident remains under investigation, with the FBI taking the lead. Atlanta police initially took the lead, and it is unclear why the FBI took over.

“FBI Georgia responded, along with Atlanta Police, this afternoon after a flight from Columbus to Atlanta was disrupted by an unruly passenger. All passengers and crew were taken off the aircraft,” the FBI Atlanta field office said Sunday night. “The FBI can assure the traveling public there is no continuing threat related to this incident. The FBI and Atlanta Police are currently conducting interviews to gather the facts and the FBI will consult with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Georgia to determine if federal charges will be filed.”

]]> A passenger flying out of a South Florida airport was detained after he was accused of making a bomb threat on an aircraft, causing passengers to evacuate, according to local reports.

On Sunday, March 1, a man on board a JetBlue flight taking off from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Broward County, Florida, around 41 miles north of Miami, was taken into custody after he allegedly made bomb threats, reported local news outlets WSVN and WPLG.

The suspect was taken into custody after the Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District responded to the incident, according to the news outlets.

USA TODAY has contacted the Broward County Sheriff’s office and JetBlue regarding the incident.

Passengers evacuated from the plane

Passengers aboard the plane were forced to evacuate as a precaution, according to WSVN. The Broward Sheriff’s Office’s K9 unit searched the aircraft, but no bombs were found on the plane.

Passengers were able to board the plane once again, and it took off without further delays.
