Etihad Airways said it is operating a limited commercial flight schedule between Abu Dhabi and select global destinations, asking passengers to confirm bookings and avoid travelling to the airport without prior notification or confirmed tickets.
Etihad said, “Guests and members of the public should not travel to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by Etihad or hold a confirmed booking on one of the new flights.”
It asked travellers to check flight status online before leaving for the airport and ensure their contact details are updated in their booking records. Passengers who booked through travel agents have been asked to contact their agents directly for rebooking or refunds.
Eligible passengers can also request refunds through the airline’s official website. Etihad said it is facing a high volume of customer calls and advised passengers to use online channels for faster processing.
Warning issued against online scams
The airline flagged fake accounts impersonating its services and targeting customers with fraudulent refund offers.
“Etihad will never request passwords, one-time codes, payment details, or any sensitive information through social media messages,” it said, urging customers to rely only on its official website and verified social media handles.
The airline added that safety remains its priority and operations will continue only after meeting all required safety standards.
