EgyptAir has introduced its first Airbus A350‑900 into service, debuting a suite of next‑generation in‑flight entertainment and connectivity systems supplied by Panasonic Avionics. The aircraft makes EgyptAir the first airline globally to deploy Panasonic’s new Modular Interactive (MI) platform, a cloud‑based tool that lets airlines update and customize the seatback experience more quickly than traditional systems.

MI is now installed across EgyptAir’s A350‑900 fleet as part of a fully integrated Panasonic IFEC ecosystem. The platform allows the airline to adjust layouts, branding, color schemes and apps without lengthy development cycles. Panasonic says the system is designed to position the in‑flight screen as a third digital channel for airlines alongside mobile and web platforms.

EgyptAir Chairman and CEO Capt. Ahmed Adel said the new aircraft marks a step forward in the airline’s onboard experience. “The integration of the Astrova and NEXT systems on our A350‑900 ensures that every traveler, whether in Business or Economy, enjoys world‑class connectivity and cinema‑quality visuals,” he said. The airline is also offering tailored features such as immersive 3D maps and a “Young Explorers” mode designed for children.
