Lufthansa will celebrate its centenary on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026, by recreating the airline’s inaugural routes from 1926 with special flights from Berlin to Zurich and Cologne.

The anniversary programme includes a major ceremony at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), where more than 600 guests are expected. Earlier in the day, two long-haul aircraft—a Boeing 787-9 from Frankfurt and an Airbus A350-900 from Munich—will bring over 400 invited guests, including employees, partners, media, and influencers, to the capital. Both aircraft will feature special 100th anniversary liveries.

In the afternoon, Lufthansa will reenact its first-ever flights, originally operated on April 6, 1926. A Boeing 787 (LH1926) will fly from Berlin to Zurich, while an Airbus A350 (LH2026) will head to Cologne. Both flights will follow the historic routings via key German cities, though without stopovers, and are scheduled to depart simultaneously at around 15:00.

The event is expected to draw significant public interest, with large crowds anticipated at BER as well as in Zurich and Cologne. Tickets for the commemorative flights sold out within days, highlighting strong enthusiasm for the airline’s 100-year milestone.
