MANILA- Philippine Airlines (PR) is expanding its Manila (MNL) to Los Angeles (LAX) nonstop service beginning June 1, 2026. The weekly frequency on this key transpacific route will rise from 14 flights to 18, addressing growing demand between the Philippines and the U.S. West Coast.

This increase reflects PAL’s strategy to bolster its North American presence while enhancing connectivity across its domestic and regional network. The airline plans to operate three round-trip flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, up from two daily services on those days.

Philippine Airlines Los Angeles Flights

Philippine Airlines’ current schedule between MNL and LAX has Boeing 777 aircraft for two daily flights. From June 2026, the airline will operate a third daily rotation on four days of the week—reflecting sustained customer interest and strategic growth in its transpacific operations.PAL President Richard Nuttall emphasized the importance of this route, calling it “a key route” that supports strong economic ties between the Philippines and the United States:

By increasing our capacity on this key route, we are opening doors for travelers to experience the world-class service and heartfelt hospitality unique to Philippine Airlines, while also supporting the dynamic economic relationship that drives opportunities between the Philippines and the U.S.”PAL President Richard Nuttall

The added capacity will also improve access to PAL’s extensive domestic and regional destinations, enabling smoother connections for travelers across Asia.

Cargo and Network Impact

Philippine Airlines operates a diverse fleet composed of Boeing, Airbus, and De Havilland aircraft, enabling the carrier to maintain an extensive network of nonstop services. These flights depart from its major hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao. The carrier offers service to 31 domestic points across the Philippine archipelago and 38 destinations spanning Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East. According to Cirium, the airline is

  • Recognized as an APEX Four™ Star airline.
  • Has the highest Asia-Pacific on-time performance record for three consecutive months (August–October 2025).

Beyond passenger services, PAL expects the frequency increase to significantly boost its cargo capacity. Reports suggest that the expansion could add up to 60 tonnes of weekly cargo throughput between Manila, L.A., and other Asian and U.S. markets via airline and trucking partners.

This growth comes alongside other network enhancements: PAL is also increasing its Manila–Seattle service from three to five flights weekly starting November 25, 2025. In addition, the airline plans to launch thrice-weekly nonstop service from Cebu to Guam beginning December 16, 2025.

Bottom Line

PAL’s decision to boost its Manila–L.A. route to 18 weekly flights from June 2026 underscores its commitment to scaling up its transpacific operations. This move will not only cater to rising passenger demand but also support cargo growth and offer travelers enhanced connectivity through PAL’s wider network.
